AnkaSearch Installation Overview

• Pre-requisites:
  • AnkaSearch Beta 1.04 requires JRE version 1.6.0 or higher to be installed on your system. If it is not installed, the same will be detected during installation, and you will be prompted to download and install the same.
  • Java bin directory path should be defined in your systems PATH environment variable. If not defined, this will be detected and defined during install. If not feasible, due to lack of administrator rights, you will be prompted, and may need to do this task manually.

    Goto Control Panel -> System -> Advanced Tab -> Environment Variables. Select Path from System variables, and press edit button. Add ;<drive:>\Program Files\Java\<jre version>\bin, to the Variable value.

  • For better viewing of downloaded web changes, javascript debugging should be switched off in your Internet Explorer Browser. The same can be done as follows:

    In your Internet Explorer, goto

    Tools -> Internet Options -> Advanced Tab

    Select

    Disable script debugging (Internet Explorer)
    Disable script debugging (Other)

    Unselect

    Display a notification about every script error
• Installation: AnkaSearch Beta 1.04 binaries on Win32 platform are distributed as a self-extracting executable.
• Installation Problems In case problems are encountered during installation of AnkaSearch Beta 1.04, send an e-mail to logdefect@ankasoftware.com. Follow the steps listed below and include the information in your e-mail:
  • Start a cmd.exe window. This can be done by Start->Run->Type cmd in the Run window.
  • Take a dump of your environment variables, by typing 'set' in the command window. Copy/Paste the entire output of set command in your e-mail.
  • Run AnkaSearch in debug mode by executing the following command in your cmd window <drive:>\Program Files\Anka\AnkaSearch\AnkaSearch_Beta_1_04\bin\AnkaSearchLaunchDebug.bat. Copy/Paste the entire trace output from the cmd window in your e-mail.
